Richard was a tireless volunteer with the Illinois Prairie Path.

Richard A. Diebold of Schaumburg, Illinois was born November 13, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois and died November 20, 2020 in New Port Richey, Florida. A 1938 graduate of York High school he worked at Diebold Cabinet Shop for 60 years.

Surviving are six children, Robert (Diane), Ginger (Andy), John (Mary), Rick (Joanne), Marilyn (Bob), Delia (Bill), Eleven Grandchildren, four Great Grandchildren and four Great great grandchildren. Also surviving his wife of
twenty-three years, Freda.

Richard was a force for good in his community. A tireless volunteer with Illinois Prairie Path, he aided in the refurbishing and conserving of the old Lombard depot. He was a founding member of the Elmhurst Bicycle Club, now 44 years old, and the Schaumburg Bicycle Club. Richard was a gifted woodworker crafting beautiful furniture and pieces of art.

The Diebold family invites Richard’s many friends to attend a memorial service November 20. Noon to 3pm.
