Please help our friends at the Elmhurst Great Western Prairie on Saturday. The EGWP is immediately south of the IPP!!

Welcome to Summer, all you fine volunteers!
Our next volunteer day at the Elmhurst Great Western Prairie this Saturday, July 15 from 9:00 until noon. Forecast calls for a 42% chance of rain with possible scattered thunderstorms. If there is just a light drizzle, we will work, but any lightning at all, we will call off this month’s event. See below under BAD WEATHER about how we cancel events and get the word out.
This month, we will be meeting at Salt Creek and the Illinois Prairie Path, four blocks west of our usual meet up spot at Berkley Ave and the IPP. Our super volunteer, Tim Scully, has suggested we attempt to tame the jungle between West Ave. and Rex, an area we have neglected the last couple years. If you have your own gloves, loppers or hand saws (no power tools!) please bring them along, if not we should have plenty. And please arrive just before 9:00 for the orientation meeting. Arriving early is especially important for first timers so you hear the complete instructions and learn about safety issues.
Talk it up with your friends! Hope to see you all on Saturday, July 15 at 9:00 AM sharp!
Take it easy, but take it!
