Your help is needed to spread the word about Lombard’s first Village-Wide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. Please visit our interactive online map [8] and survey [9]. Your help in sharing these links will help us gather as many comments as possible. The tools will identify key destinations that people want to reach on bicycle or foot as well as current barriers to bicycling and walking in our community. Want to learn more? Visit our table at Cruise Nights on the following dates, times, and locations: · Saturday, June 13 from 6-9 PM in the Kid’s Corner · Saturday June 20 from 6-9 PM in the Kid’s Corner.
Please also participate in our COMMUNITY MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 1 FROM 7-9 PM AT THE LOMBARD VILLAGE HALL. The plan will culminate with a bike tour in late September to showcase proposed recommendations. Please check Facebook [10], the Village website [11], and subsequent emails for more information. The Village-Wide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan serves as an update to Lombard’s 2008 Lilac Bikeway Plan and will be its first pedestrian plan. The plan will identify locations for on-street bicycle facilities, such as bike lanes, and policies and programs that will facilitate increased biking and walking trips throughout the Village.
This is a Village of Lombard event, in partnership with Alta Planning + Design and Active Transportation Alliance.
